It is now agreed between Client(s), whose name(s) is/are written below, (hereinafter referred to as Client) and Vicki’s Pampered Pet Care (VPPC), that by signing this Agreement, Client is requesting the services of VPPC to care for Client’s pets on the dates listed below. Future service agreements will be made verbally and care will be provided in the manner described on the Client Service Agreement, Pet Care Instruction, and Veterinary Permission forms. If the Client desires to change these arrangements, Client must provide written or verbal instructions as to the desired change(s).

It is agreed and understood that payment for service is due the first day service begins, unless other arrangements have been made with Vicki Lachman. If paying by check, check should be made payable to: Vicki’s Pampered Pet Care.
Most pet sitters who work for VPPC are independent contractors. VPPC acts in the capacity of a leasing agent. Therefore, VPPC requires and Client agrees that all drop-in and overnight care arrangements will be made exclusively through the office of VPPC. Sitters are asked not to give their personal telephone numbers to clients. Client agrees not to ask for Sitter’s personal telephone numbers. If arrangements are not made through the VPPC office, Client understands and agrees that Client is violating this contractual agreement and VPPC will not be responsible, and will be held harmless for sitter’s actions or inaction.
Client agrees to pay a $20 charge for each check returned by the bank. Client agrees to reimburse VPPC for any food, litter, medication, and/or medical costs incurred for the purpose of performing the agreed upon services. Client agrees to pay a $18.00 service fee for same.
Bonding and Insurance: Client understands that VPPC has a Dishonesty Bond and Liability Insurance that covers all Sitters.
Substitution of Sitters: Although it is the intention of VPPC to introduce clients, pets, and pet sitters to each other prior to the start of each service, it is understood that occasionally circumstances may require one pet sitter to substitute for another without prior notification to or meeting with Client (e.g. if Sitter becomes ill, is called away to family illness, etc.). VPPC and its pet sitters will make every effort to provide care as and when requested by Client. It is understood that visitation times are approximate.
Compensation: VPPC offers one complimentary meeting with Client before service begins. At this meeting the Sitter will record care taking information for Client's home and pet(s). If it is necessary for a client to meet a new Sitter because the sitters Client has previously met are not available, this meeting will also be complimentary. However, if Client requests a meeting in addition to the aforementioned complimentary meetings, now or in the future, Client agrees to pay an additional fee. Compensation will be at the previously agreed upon rate. If there is no previously agreed upon rate, Client agrees to pay $18 for up to 30 minutes of the Sitter's time, and $3 for each additional 15 minutes thereafter.
Duties for which additional compensation will be required include, but are not limited to: Taking pet to (and/or picking up from) vet or groomer; picking up additional food or medication; picking up and returning keys; and waiting for service people.
If a pet becomes ill, experiences separation anxiety, or another problem arises that requires a time investment beyond that for which the Client has contracted, Sitter will make every reasonable effort to contact Client and/or Client's emergency contact to discuss options and to obtain permission to increase number and/or length of visits, to change type of visit, or to make other arrangements, including kenneling pet, if necessary. If Sitter is unable to reach Client or Client's emergency contact, Client understands and agrees that Sitter will use his/her best judgment in finding the best solution to the problem. Client agrees to pay VPPC for any required additional visits at the rate agreed upon, or as described above.
In the event my pet causes physical harm to Sitter, Client agrees to reimburse Sitter for monies paid or pay medical provider monies owed relating to injury to assess and/or treat injury.
Definition of Services: Pet Sitting can be either in the form of a drop-in visit or overnight care. Drop-in visits are of 30 minutes duration unless otherwise agreed upon in writing between the Sitter and Client. Overnight visits start around dinnertime and end early the next morning (times are dependent upon the agreement reached between Client and the individual Sitter). The Sitter will stay at the Client's home from arrival in the early evening until departure the next morning and not leave unless agreed upon in advance with Client and put in writing.
Cancellation Policy: All monies paid to VPPC for services ordered but not performed will be returned to Client if Sitter has been notified of the cancellation 24 hours or more prior to the expected visit. If such notice is not received, Client agrees to pay for visits that were to be made within that 24-hour period. All other monies will be returned to Client. The exception to this Policy is when the reserved/ordered services occur on the day of a holiday or on the days surrounding a holiday.
Holiday bookings require a 50% deposit at the time of booking. This deposit is refundable up to two weeks before the sit is scheduled to start. After that date the deposit will not be refunded. The balance of the payment is due before service begins for new clients and on the first day service begins for returning clients. Once service begins no refunds will be given for pet sitting services ordered but not rendered.
Notification of Client Return: Client(s) agrees to notify the office of VPPC when they return home. If Client fails to do this, Client agrees to pay for any additional visits made by Sitter as a result of Client’s failure to notify VPPC of their return. Compensation shall be at the previously agreed upon rate. If a service is rendered and the rate was not previously discussed, Client agrees to pay a minimum of $18.00 for drop-in visits and $50.00 a day or night for house sitting.
